Artist…When? Artist…. Now!

I claim to be an artist. I think of myself as an artist, I’ve been practising my artist intro. I have a BA Hons degree. I can draw and paint…. I can make textiles..weave,spin fibres,print,knit,crochet,dye… I can sew cloth-pretty much anything..handbags, hats,dresses,trousers,curtains, cushions,quilts, banners…. So the indication is there. Yet do my actions match my

Deadlines…don’t work & what I’ve been doing instead……

is trying out reverse applique inspired by this.   Using my hand as a motif has led me to make a series of ‘hand’ drawings,  and has inspired this for Aaliyah’s quilt It has prompted thought and appreciation for my hands and all the things they do.

To celebrate the finished job  and to get off to the best start,  I have put up an affirmation………. as a  blessing.  to be thankful it’s finished. To look forward to using it. The design wall measures approximately 3.6m wide and 2.4m high,, plenty of space to grow my art.
