Artist…When? Artist…. Now!

I claim to be an artist. I think of myself as an artist, I’ve been practising my artist intro. I have a BA Hons degree. I can draw and paint…. I can make textiles..weave,spin fibres,print,knit,crochet,dye… I can sew cloth-pretty much anything..handbags, hats,dresses,trousers,curtains, cushions,quilts, banners…. So the indication is there. The Quilt Top is Finished……

Now tomorrow it will be quilted….in simple grid pattern. The black square corners are already quilted, so the batting/wadding( the middle layer of the quilt) will be cut to fit the inside shapes, making a cross shape.The batting, although not seen, will echo nicely the central cross shape of the top. Declaring my intention has motivated me into action.! I have been completing unfinished tasks. Last week the studio  was  re organised.  Adopting  the “USE IT or LOSE IT” approach coupled with  ‘keeping that which I love’ has done the trick.
