Deadlines…don’t work & what I’ve been doing instead……

is trying out reverse applique inspired by this.   Using my hand as a motif has led me to make a series of ‘hand’ drawings,  and has inspired this for Aaliyah’s quilt It has prompted thought and appreciation for my hands and all the things they do.

Brightly coloured cloths are gathered and four corners set out. The squares were samples made experimenting with wadding and pattern . The shoes were quilted from direct observation, ‘quilt drawing’.
