Love and Loss
I made this quilt top soon after mum died- it’s now been seven years and forever since that january day. I will quilt it now and remember some of her classic sayings- ‘You can do anything you put your mind to’, ‘Just think nice thoughts’-‘Do your best’. I miss her.
The studio wall gets busy as I try out ideas. Cloth that is not included in my current project, speaks to me from here.

I made another, different drawing today, using the drawing tool from Oregon College of Art and Crafts website, but it seems they haven’t sent it to me….. Checking out this ,on account of Kevin liking my blog, I came across a drawing tool and made my hand/heart for today. The MFA programme looks interesting as well, makes me want to go back to art school.
Helping hands…healing hands…hands as a source of inspiration…which has prompted a little playing around to update this blog’s appearance…great fun.
Deadlines…don’t work & what I’ve been doing instead……
is trying out reverse applique inspired by this. Using my hand as a motif has led me to make a series of ‘hand’ drawings, and has inspired this for Aaliyah’s quilt It has prompted thought and appreciation for my hands and all the things they do.
