‘h’ is for haberdashery

  ‘h’ was my first choice letter today and provided todays title. So yesterday (Day 2) I nipped Into town to replenish supplies.  MacCulloch and Wallis and John Lewis were my destinations. As I turned left into Dering Street, it was looking decidedly quiet, maybe because there is major cross rail works going on ,

Love and Loss

I made this quilt top soon after mum died- it’s now been seven years and forever since that january day. I will quilt it now and remember some of her classic sayings- ‘You can do anything you put your mind to’, ‘Just think nice thoughts’-‘Do your best’. I miss her.

No Hand/Heart # 3 today….

I made another, different drawing today, using the drawing tool from Oregon College of Art and Crafts website, but it seems they haven’t sent it to me….. This is one I made earlier…… The heart/hand is a motif has been around since the Shaker’s and is intended to represent ‘Hand’s to Work , Heart to God’.

No procrastination today!

Checking out this ,on account of Kevin liking my blog, I came across a drawing tool and made my hand/heart for today. The MFA programme looks interesting as well, makes me want to go back to art school.

Helping hands…healing hands…hands as a source of inspiration…which has prompted a little playing around to update this blog’s appearance…great fun.

Deadlines…don’t work & what I’ve been doing instead……

is trying out reverse applique inspired by this.   Using my hand as a motif has led me to make a series of ‘hand’ drawings,  and has inspired this for Aaliyah’s quilt It has prompted thought and appreciation for my hands and all the things they do.
